Hey, I like your pizza but its over priced. I haven’t brought myself to purchasing it for months now because of the price. I understand you need to make a profit but this is ridiculous. I can get something from Parkway Pizza for less money and I know that by getting it there it is going to be organic and sustainable. What’s the deal? Please lower your prices so I can be a customer again.
Hey Tony,
This is Rich at Di Nokos. I am the owner. Very please to talk with you.
I wish i could lower my prices but the overhead here is very expensive.
Pizza Joes couldnt make it at there prices. Trust me i am not making any money.
I just did a comparison of Parkway and Di Nokos prices. I am 50 cents higher
on a 14inch 3 item pizza. Would love to have you as a customer. I try to give everyone a coupon discount even if they dont have one when they call.
Please feel free to call me anytime at 612-727-2424. Rich Moore
Di Nokos is the long-awaited neighborhood gem for the Nokomis Lake area. Before Di Nokos’ arrival area residents had their choice of two pizza delivery shops; a franchise of a national chain that spends more on advertising than ingredients or the local pizzeria that spent next to nothing on either ingredients or local ad space. Di Nokos has surprised me on a number of occasions with their noticeably-fresh ingredients. And what more could you ask for from a food vendor? Beyond that, they are always offering customers great coupon discounts, even when you don’t have any coupons on hand. We are thrilled that the folks at Di Nokos are dedicated to quality ingredients and neighborly service. We wish them continued success and will do our part to spread the word that Di Nokos is THE choice for pizza delivery along the Minnehaha Parkway.
When it was Gineill’s pizza a few years ago they offered a spicey sauce option on their pizza that was incredible. Do you folks offer anything that was comparable to that.
We only offer 4 different Sauces.
1st one is the Main Pizza Sauce offered as our reugular sauce. It is a Sweet and Spicey sauce.
2nd one is an Alfrado Saucse
3rd one is a Buffalo ( house made)
4th on is a BBQ (house made )
Hope you give us a try.
Rich
So happy to have our local pizza joint be Di Noko’s. My husband and I have always been pleased with quality and service. I don’t see anyone else getting our pizza allowance anytime soon!
Hey guys!
Thank you for the fabulous pizza! Your sauce and crust is the bomb! Your customer service is beyond incredible! I am a server who knows how important that is. Whenever I call I receive a friendly person who actually has a personality, gives me an accurate time of delivery and a coupon! I also wish you success. I think you have something here.
Suzanne
Love you guys and your pizza too!!!! Thanks for joining the neighborhood!
NOT overpriced! This is the best pizza in the area by far and the price is exactly what I would expect if not less.
We tried the deep dish pizza with sausage and found it to be a good value for the money. We are stuffed (belch) and know what we are having for lunch tomorrow! It is a very hearty pizza and a nice change of pace from your usual boring old pizza. I recommend the deep dish.
Go Deep!
Mr. Moore, the owner, is a close friend of mine. Your pizza is the best, Rich. I wish I lived closer so I could patronize you more. To those who think it’s too expensive … you get what you pay for. I will pay 20 bucks for a gourmet pizza. His pizza is well worth the price and he is always offering specials. Try it out! I will be picking one up tonight:)
This is my favorite pizza in Minneapolis! I tell everyone about how much I love love love this pizza. I am the daughter of an Italian restaurant owner and I haven’t had this good of pizza since my dad closed the doors to our restaurant 10 years ago.
I just had my first Di Noko’s pizza. It was really good. Much better than the other one’s in the neighborhood. I got a coupon – don’t know where that came from but I appreciate it.
The delicious pizza came to my door piping hot! I will definitely be calling again. I also love pizza cut in little squares. Thank you for paying attention to details. Sam
I’m always on the lookout for good local pizzerias and I have found a gem! Di Nokos gives you generous portions of sauce (unique and delicious), toppings AND cheese at a very competitive price-a rarety in my experience. Save room for some cheesy garlic bread with the home made freshness and flavor that will melt in your mouth!
I wish you continued growth and success. You are a welcome addition to the neighborhood!
I dont think it is overpriced at all. In this neighborhood you cant expect to get a specialty pizza for a better price!!
Wasn’t sure if I’d ever be able to eat pizza anywhere besides Chicago again – but was just told you are the only place in MN that has a real good Chicago deep dish – so def going to try you out SOON!
I’m looking at the prices and they don’t look out of line at all. I mean, someone could get a pizza from Dominoes for $5.99, but then they’d have to eat Dominoes.
I was led here by the folks on the Chowhound board. I think I’ll have to stop in for a pizza in the next few weeks.
Saw you on heavy table. Thank you for delivering to us down by Southdale. I have never had deep dish. It’s really good. We sat down with the pizza when the delivery came, and I got out my chili flakes, like I usually do for delivery. I didn’t need the chili. This sauce has some zip. Thank you for having the balls to make a good sauce. And it’s a ridiculous amount of pizza for the $. I’ve been eating a piece every day and 1 slice is a meal.
Had Di Noko’s for the first time last night. Ordered a 14″ thin crust and an order of buffalo wings. I placed by order for pickup. It was a 45 minute wait. When I arrived, pizza was ready and was nice and hot!
Crust was good. Outer slices reminded of of Totino’s party pizza, but better. Had the same crispiness and airiness, but not oily.
Sauce had good flavor but was too sweet for me.
Great amount of cheese.
Buffalo wings were average. Unlike the wings you get at other big name pizza places, these wings had meat on them! Very large drumsticks. The blue cheese sauce was also average. I would have liked the wings to be severed with some celery.
The price was comparable to other pizza shops (not comparing to Papa Johns type places). Not overpriced.
If I would have asked for delivery I’m curious what the delivery time would have been. I think the delivery area might be too large. It is great they want to deliver pizza out to Southdale, but this impacts the service you can provide to your near by customers. Maybe they have drivers on standby?
I live only 15 blocks away and only heard of this place because of Heavy Table. If they were to do more local advertising I think that would be more profitable. The cost spent on delivering a pizza 10 miles away could be spent on local advertising.
Overall good pizza. Might not be my first choice if I’m in a hurry (because of the time it took for a pickup order), but would consider it if I planned ahead.
I had your deep dish pizza this past saturday. This IS the BEST deep dish pizza since Edwardos left town.I ordered the sausage ,green pepper, onions and mushroom. That was my standard at Edwardos. This over the top. better than I expected.
I finally can have the pizza I love right here in south Minneapolis!
The Deep Dish pizza is AMAZING.
EVERYTIME I have friends in from out of town – all they ever want to eat is DiNokos Deep Dish pizza.
Hi Rich,
I just had your pizza for the first time. Don’t lower your prices, raise them. I will pay for that amazing deep dish pizza you make. If people are complaining about the prices, they don’t appreciate paying for quality. Seriously, your sauce is amazing.
I love your sauce (and *fresh* mushrooms), and my husband loves your sausage. After reading others’ reviews, going to try your deep dish for the first time tonight. We like supporting local small businesses, so we’re glad to have another quality pizza-delivery option in the Longfellow/Hiawatha area. Hope you guys stick around for the long haul.
Just had Di Noko’s delivery for the first time last night after a long time coming. I was excited when I read the positive review on Heavy Table. I was really pleased with everything… Fresh ingredients, savory crust, right amount of cheese, house spicy/sweet sauce was unbelievable – and it’s always the sauce that makes the pizza! The only bad thing was that I was full after two pieces! Di Noko’s is definitely going to give my other favorite pizza places in the neighborhood a run for their money! Thanks guys – can’t wait to order again.
we tried the handtossed. Excellent! I have just changed my go to pizza shop.
I tried your pizza for the first time tonight with my husband at our friends’ super bowl party. Oh my god. The deep dish we got was so fantastic, may have been the best pizza I’ve ever had. I wish I could have had more than an itsy bitsy little sliver – I will be craving this until the next time I can have it again!
We used to live just a few blocks from Pizza Joe’s (which was nasty) and were excited to see that a new place had taken over. Some of our friends graciously delivered your pizza to our door this weekend so we could give you a try. It was delicious! The crust is great (deep dish was my favorite), the sauce was very nice and I was blown away by that cheese! Such great flavor– and we even ate it over an hour after it was made because it took that long for our friends to deliver it to us! So happy to have you in our old neighborhood and I look forward to making up excuses to come back around so we can keep checking you out!
My husband and I first tried your pizza (deep dish) the night I went into labor with our first child. It was hearty and beyond delicious!! I swear the carbo-loading from your pizza is what gave me the energy to get through the 19 hours of labor…it was the last meal I had before delivery! So it will always have a special place with us!
Your sauce is delicious, and it arrived to us hot, even though you were clearly very busy the night we ordered. I would love if you added roasted red peppers to the ingredient list…they are my fave!
so do the specialty pizzas (bacon cheeseburger) not come in deep dish style? That is what I am not sure about. Cant wait to try you out.
We ordered for the first time on Sunday and we were completely blown away. Sausage-Green Pepper-Onion Deep Dish!!! My wife and I agree it was the best pizza we have ever had. In regards to the price comments, if anything your prices are too low. You should not be competing with the average run-of-the-mill pizza shop, it is too good and we want to make sure you are around for a long time. We will be back for more on a regular basis, you can count on that.
Hi, The Deep Dish is kinda its own identity. It has its own sauce. And Can be built with anything you like.
Only recommendation is not to add more than 4 ingredients. It just doesn’t cook correctly.
Thanks Rich
Randomly picked this out of the phone book and got lucky. My girlfriend and i both agreed it was the best pizza we have ever had. The regular red sauce is crazy good and they don’t skimp on the ingredients. The price for a deep dish pizza is completely reasonable for what you get. Amazing!! Now everytime we come to town we have to order. Plus the costumer service is the best. Hope you all do well
Hello – I have lived in the neighborhood for over 10 years and tried every pizza place that has been at that location. My husband and I absolutely love your pizza! It tastes just like a real pizza, not that 30 minute delivery service place. All of the ingredients were fresh, and the sauce is wonderful. The two of us ordered a 12′ and had left overs for the next day!We have heard raves about the deep-dish, maybe we will try it next time.
Can’t believe there haven’t been comments since April – this pizza is fabulous! The deep dish beats anything closer than Chicago since My Pi closed and the sauce makes every version special.
@Tony. Seriously, was that really your comment? I’m sorry for you that you can’t spend a few extra bucks for a genuine, one-of-a-kind unlike anything else here in Minneapolis. Staggering. I’ll pay full price every time to make up for those like you looking for… what? What are you looking for? You found awesome pizza at Di Noko’s so why complain? Much more important to have a unique and diverse restaurant scene than a few extra bucks per pie.
Hands down the best deep dish pizza ever! Even Chicago doesn’t have deep dish this good. Thanks DiNoko’s!!!
I had Di Noko’s for the first time this week(thin crust), and seriously, your sauce is the jam. Three days later, I decided to order a deep for my family to try after talking it up so much, and we are floored! Best pizza I’ve ever had! I know that sounds cliche, but I can’t think of a time I’ve had a better pizza. Thank you Di Noko’s!
As a born-and-bread Chicagoan, it has been so hard to get my pizza fix out here, especially where deep dish is concerned. In my opinion, you guys make the best deep dish in the state! Thanks so much and keep on being amazing!
Di Nokos has been my wife and I’s go to pizza for the past few months we get it almost 3-4 times a month. I heard about it because of its deep dish but have not even tried it yet because the thin crust is so good. I think the challenge of a great pizza place is; can you make a great cheese pizza? Di nokos can make a great cheese pizza.
Its game day and i will be getting a pizza from di nokos.
also, my mom said the bbq chicken pizza is one of her favorite pizzas of all time.
Sun.Jan13. Watching football playoffs. Don’t want to cook. Pizza? Yes. Fat Lorenzo? Never!! Carbones? Same old, same old & barely warm last two times. It’s been there awhile, but hadn’t heard about it til I got a coupon in the mail for a place called DiNokos. Let’s try it. Told 45mns to 1 hr. Got here in 35mns, piping hot with an aroma that said “Eat me!” We’re in cheese heaven. A sweet sauce offset by a little bite, with the flavors of basil, garlic & everything else that makes a good sauce great coming thru! Lots of tasty peperoni, the best sausage I have ever eaten on a za. And a handtossed crust that wasn’t soggy, but crispy & chewy. The price? A bit high for us, but we’d rather spend a little bit more for quality. That’s value to us. Leftovers, and there was plenty, popped in a hot oven for a few mns put us right back in za paradise! Thank you DiNokos for restoring our faith in a great local place to get the best pizza ever!! Please, stick around forever.
Thank you for making a nique and tasty pizza! Stand by your pricing (only you know what you need to charge to make this a profitable business without losing too many people due to prices). People pay for what they get! Another happy customer, JWS
